Is The Teclast Tbook 16 Power a Contender For My Next Tablet?

By Tim

The Teclast Tbook 16 Power has a few things going for it as far as I am concerned. It is an 11.6 inch tablet which puts it into the 12 inch class, it supports a stylus and it has a relatively good display resolution.

Currently Gearbest has this tablet at a presale price of $350.51 which isn’t bad considering the specs.

However, as usual, until I see a review online from a source outside of China, I can’t really do anymore than report the specs. I did find an unboxing review which you can watch below.

First of all, it does have a much faster/better processor than my HiBook or even the Hi12, being that it is an Intel X7-Z8750 quad core. This processor is clocked at 1.6gHz wih a max speed of 2.56Ghz. So CPU will be better/faster.

The ram might be the biggest selling point here, being that it is 8gb of LPDDR3 @1600MHz.

It does offer 64gb onboard storage and microSD support up to 128gb. Would have been nice to see an SSD here with 128gb, but nope.

Downsides are a rather run of the mill 1920 x 1080 FHD display. Folks, that is fairly sub-standard considering that a Chuwi Hibook Pro features 2560 x 1600 at almost $100 less, albeit on a smaller 10.1 inch screen. Or the Chuwi Hi12 with it’s 2160 x 1440 and the slightly better (than the Z8300), Z8350 processor, now on sale at $258.

The other glaring omission is the lack of WiFi ac (5 gHz) with only b/g/n available.

It is certainly a step up from the Z8300 processor powered tablets that seem to be mainstream these days, but until I either get my hands on one or until someone else does a full review, I would suggest waiting for the Teclast X5 with the Core M3 processor along with that 240gb SSD drive.

Of course if your interested in this tablet, you can order it today at this site.
