Panasonic Debuts Toughbook 33 2 in 1 Detachable Laptop, With Windows 10 on Board

By Radu Iorga

Panasonic announced this week a new rugged laptop, or better said detachable, known as the Toughbook 33. This is a 2 in 1 machine, powered by Windows 10 and relying on 7th generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.

The device has a 12 inch 3:2 display and it’s “inspired by mobile professionals”. The slate sticks to MIL-STD-810G and IP65, being able to function even in extreme conditions. It has built in Cortana and relies on an IP55 digitizer, which lets you use Windows Ink on order to draw or sign accurately on the screen. Windows Hello is also here for extra security, letting you use an infrared webcam with facial recognition or the fingerprint reader.

Panasonic’s Toughbook 33 2 in 1 laptop also has beefed up batteries, with two twin hot swap units, that offer 10 hours of functioning time or up to 20 hours with the Long Life Battery config. This newcomer can be used in 6 modes, depending on the needs of the worker. Other features of the device include a Full HD webcam and an 8 megapixel main cam, 256 GB SSD with heater and 8 GB of on board RAM, but you can also go for 16 GB.

Barcode scanners, smartcard or contactless smartcard or fingerprint readers are here. Vehicle docks are also available. The product will be available on authorized Panasonic resellers later this month, priced at around $3649.
