New Surface Pro Gets Rendered, It’s in Fact an Upgraded Surface Pro 4

By Radu Iorga

In a couple of days we’ll see another Microsoft event, following the BUILD one from last week. This time Microsoft is said to be unveiling Surface hardware, but not the Surface Pro 5 you’re hoping for, denied by Panos Panay recently. It’ll be an upgraded Surface Pro 4. that has been rendered below.

The renders come from reputed sources Evan Blass and show little to no change compared to the tablet from 2015. Microsoft has an event scheduled on May 23rd in Shanghai, where they are expected to show new stuff. Sources claim that the new device will simply be called Surface Pro and it should keep the magnesium case and looks of the Pro 4.

The size may also be similar and the only real novelty is the hardware inside and maybe some accessories. The 2 in 1 model will offer Kaby Lake generation processor choices, more RAM and storage, new connectivity options and most likely a new stylus and keyboard. Prices should go past $900 and $1000 and the slate is rumored to come in 4 color choices, with accessories to match.

Even though there are big odds we will get the same 12.3 inch PixelSense display with a 2736 x 1824 pixel, an upgrade would also be welcome there. I guess we’ll have to wait and see…
