We knew something was missing from CES 2018, after all those Lenovo launches… That’s right, the Dell launches were hot on their trail. Dell brought to Las Vegas a few new laptops, plus the Dell XPS 15 (2018) convertible, which we detailed below. This device opts for an Intel Kaby Lake-G processor and AMD Radeon Vega graphics.
The Dell XPS 15 is a 15 inch 2 in 1 laptop. It’s got a 15.6 inch touchscreen actually and a 360 degree hinge in the mix. It plays nicely with the Dell Active Pen and provides an 8th gen Intel Core processor, plus Radeon RX Vega M graphics with 4 GB memory. The device will be available this Spring, starting at $1300. Configs start with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM and go as high as 32 GB, which certainly makes this sound like a gaming machine.
The CPU choice also includes an Intel Core i5 8th gen and storage goes from 128 GB of non PCIe and 1 TB of SSD. It all comes in at just 16 mm thickness and the case is made of a combo between aluminum and carbon fiber. The screen has a pretty impressive resolution of 3200 x 1800 pixels. Gorilla Glass 4 protection and 100% Adobe RGB spectrum are also here.
I could say that Dell leaked some Alienware drops in this skinny baby. It all runs on Windows 10 and comes with a 75 Wh battery, good enough for 15 hours of functioning. Miracast, Bluetooth 4.1 and WiFi ac with optional vPro functionality are all here. Dell XPS 15 (2018) has a magnetic maglev keyboard and it’s compatible with the latest Dell Premium Active Pen.
