The latest report from Market Insight Reports shows that the future of the drawing tablets and graphics tablets is quite bright. Market growth is expected for 2018, onwards to 2023 and figures are looking quite fine. The report covers the past period, too, between 2012 and 2017 and the growth prospects for the next years.
In order to calculate market size, the report takes into account the 90-95% of the total addressable market by all the major players out there, all over the segments. The drawing and graphics tablets are predicted to grow at a CAGR of 10 to 15% till 2023. Those numbers are obtained by taking into account the trends and evolution from the past 5 years. Seeing how even Apple was persuaded to jump onto the stylus bandwagon, this makes sense.
The laptop as we know is fading the distinction between tablet and laptop is getting more and more blurry. Convertibles are the ones uniting the form factors, sometimes with rotatable screens, sometimes with styli in the mix. Lenovo, Samsung and Apple come to mind, but Huawei has also been toying with the segment. Of course Wacom remains a giant name here, but its products aren’t for everyone.
Panasonic also has some devices more productivity oriented and Fujitsu too. And then there’s Surface Pro and Surface Book lineup… The only segment yet to crack with styli and graphics design is the 7 inch and 8 inch one. One can only wonder if there’s room for such a thing a sub 10 inch or even sub 13 inch diagonal. What’s clear is that you should expect more stylus action in the near future, from more brands.
