Google Pixel Slate Shows Up in Pictures Alongside Its Keyboard Cover and Stylus; Runs Chrome OS

By Claudiu Sima

As you already know, Google is holding a special press event tomorrow in New York where the new Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones will be officially unveiled. Alongside these devices we’ll also get the Google Pixel Slate, a new Chrome OS tablet that we can admire today in a couple of pictures.

The tablet adopts a simplistic look and we notice from the above rendering that it will be very thin. The edges around the 3: 2 screen are rather thick for current trends, but not so bad as to ruin the user experience.

The diagonal of the device could be 12.3 inches as we have on Google Pixelbook, but we don’t know exactly what resolution. Google Pixel Slate will also opt for a back panel that looks like metal, an area where we encounter a camera and the Google logo embedded subtly in the left corner.

The tablet will provide an USB-C port, front-facing stereo speakers and up to 16GB of RAM for rumors. Chrome OS will run here, but there is also speculation on a dual-boot configuration. Tomorrow we’ll be all about this device, including the price at which it will be sold. By the way, we might not see a 3.5 mm audio jack here unfortunately!
