Samsung brought a bunch of new laptops at CES 2019, including a budget offering dubbed Notebook Flash, plus the premium model Samsung Notebook 9 Pro. That one is a premium convertible and both are detailed below.
Samsung Notebook 9 Pro is a 13.3 inch screen machine, with a convertible format and a full metal design. Inside there’s an Intel Whiskey Lake processor and the laptop packs a touchscreen display and a 360 degree hinge. Sammy put on it stereo 1.5 watt speakers, a backlit keyboard and an Intel Core i7-8565U CPU, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of PCIe NVMe SSD.
A 55 Wh battery also makes the cut, plus a bundled pen with over 4000 levels of pressure sensitivity. There’s no shortage of connectivity options, like two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one extra USB Type-C port and an audio jack. To that we add a microSD card slot and the obvious WiFi and Bluetooth. It all weighs 2.84 pounds.
Then comes the plastic and Intel Gemini Lake totting model Samsung Notebook Flash. There’s a 13.3 inch screen on board, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of eMMC storage. It weighs around 3 pounds and measures 0.67 inches in thickness. There’s a Full HD resolution here, a fingerprint sensor and CPU options are Intel Celeron N4000 and Pentium Silver N5000. The round buttons below remind me of Google’s Pixel Slate keyboard.
Connectivity is the following: two USB Type-C ports, an USB 2.0 port, HDMI, audio jack and WiFi ac. There’s also microSD and a 39 Wh battery. Sadly there are no prices or launch dates for either model yet. Both run Windows 10 Home.
