OpenShot is a Great Video Editor, But How to Learn? Yeah, We Have a Video To Help You!

By Tim

This weekend a learned a ton of stuff about editing videos in OpenShot and making them look a lot better and sound better than my previous videos. Some things I learned the hard way, not recommended, but the rest I found on a YouTube channel that I am totally recommending to get you up to speed and creating cool videos pretty quickly!

Just in the last 2 days or so I have been able to add an into to our new channel, that while not stellar, is pretty cool.  Today I learned how to a a slide in “Subscribe Today!” overlay. Also very cool.

The learning curve on the second one was only about 2 hours, the first item I wasted 7 hrs failing before I decided to turn to YouTube and find some solid info!

So below you will find the video I created about all this, but before that, here is the link to the playlist that will help you shorten your learning time on OpenShot! Geekoutdoors.

Okay, so now on to the video I just created, using his tutorials and being patient!

That is all for now, except please subscribe to our channel or click those big donation buttons on the website here!

Today’s Early Morning Video Worth Sharing: Yes You CAN Edit Videos on Older Processor Powered Devices!

By Tim

If you watch a lot of tech reviews like I do you will constantly hear that you can’t do this or that with the latest lower end phone/notebook/tablet, when in truth, you probably can!

When folks tell you that you can’t do something, your first response should always be…bullshit! We are trained by the media and YouTube in the tech world to believe that we must have the latest tech at all times and that t should look pretty and it will do everything under the sun!

The truth is that tech from 3 years ago will get the job done, you do not need apps/programs that cost a bundle, but will will need to be patient because everything might take an extra bit of time!

Can’t is always what folks say when they are already planning to fail. It is an unacceptable word if you are willing to learn and tweak and figure out how to bypass the barriers put in front of you and also to ignore the hype when it comes to tech related stuff.

Never give up and never surrender to the fail word “can’t”. I have been trying for weeks to add a simple into logo to the videos I do for our new channel here and I finally, after deciding that I can, figured it out after 10 hours this even/morning!

The video below only took a few minutes to record and edit, but the little short 10 second clip at the front was the issue all along! That took 10 hours to get right and it still is not perfect, but our videos are getting a bit better each and everyday.

So watch the video below, never give up and leave a comment and share the video and never give up!

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: MELE PCG02 Versus Zotac Ci327 What to Buy? (2 videos!)

By Tim

So last night I was catching up on all the videos from folks I subscribe to and I ran across a video from Alex (RedSkull) on the MeLe PCG02 mini-PC. This is one interesting little device and I will be attaching that video to this article.

So after watching the video and checking out the specs I began to think how could this thing be used? Then I began to think, since it is an Intel Apollo Lake N3450 based device, how would it stack up to say a Zotac Ci327. Obviously size is a factor but so is the ability to expand RAM and storage and temperatures.

So let us get right to where to find these devices and then the specs. The MeLe PCG02 can be found on Geekbuying right now for $179. You can find the Zotac Ci327 over at Newegg at this link for $149.

Both devices run the Intel N3450 processor and Intel 500 graphics.  That is where the similarities pretty much end. The MeLe comes with Win10 home installed and activated and an eMMC 32 GB drive. You can of course add a microSD card for storage expansion.  You are also limited to the 4 GB RAM on-board. The Zotac is a bare bones kit and you will need to get a Sata 3 SSD drive and some RAM. You will also need a Win 10 license which can be quite inexpensive.

However,  with the Zotac you will end up with faster reads and writes and be able to select your storage and  RAM options. You can put in  up to 8 GB of RAM.

The MeLe may have some heat issues depending on how you use it, although as I point out in the video, you can buy some of those little stick on rubber bumpers to the bottom to increase airflow below the PC. The Zotac has ventilation on all sides and has small rubber feet already and heat will not be an issue in 99.99% of all use cases.

Cost wise the MeLe PCG02 will be the overall winner.  For ports and cooling and a little more horsepower the Zotac will be the winner. This will all depend on your use scenario.

So let us go right to those videos, first is my comparison and recommendation followed by Redskull’s hands on review of the  MeLe PCG02. Make sure to like and subscribe to both channels!
