LG Details Gram 17, Gram 2 in 1 Device Ahead of CES 2019 Debut

By Radu Iorga

CES 2019 is coming in about 3 weeks or so and it should usher in some new products, including foldables. In the meantime some precocious companies like LG have already started announcing devices. For example, we have two new members of the LG Gram family: LG Gram 2 in 1 and LG Gram 17.

They have just been briefly detailed, but not fully specced yet. LG Gram 2 in 1 is a 2.5 pound convertible tablet/laptop hybrid, with a 14 inch screen, while the LG Gram 17 is an ultra light notebook that puts the ASUS ultrabooks to shame, albeit at a much higher diagonal size: 17 inches. It weighs a bit under 3 pounds.

We already covered these devices partially via a few leaks, but now we’re prepping for the real debut, as the press release has come in. Both newcomers feature slim bezel designs, 72 Wh batteries and fingerprint readers. They also have tough bodies, with MIL-STD 810G certification and backlit keyboards.

Both also feature Intel Core 8th gen processors 8 GB to 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB to 512 GB of SSD storage. LG Gram 2 in 1 relies on a Full HD IPS touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass protection and does Wacom input via a bundled pen. Connectivity includes a USB Type-C 3.1 port, two USB 3.1 ports, a microSD card slot and a HDMI port.

LG Gram 17 comes in dark silver or white and measures 0.7 inches in thickness. It has a Thunderbolt 3/USB Type-C port, 3 USB 3.1 ports, a HDMI and microSD. There’s also a 2560 x 1600 pixel IPS display with a 965 sRGB color gamut. In spite of being so light, this device is actually big enough to also offer you a numeric keypad on the right side of the keyboard.

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Umidigi Intros F1 Smartphone Get The Specs Here!

By Tim

The Umidigi F1 is a good phone, but at this point, specs tell us very little. But I still thought we should see the specs and tell you that they are have a giveaway. So watch the video, all the links mentioned are in the Links section here of the description and please leave some feedback.

Links mentioned in the video:

Umidigi F1 Product page: http://www.umidigi.com/page-umidigi_f1_overview.html
Umidigi F1 Specs page: http://www.umidigi.com/page-umidigi_f1_specification.html

On paper this looks like a great entry level phone, but…..

There is a lot we do not know and of course  since it was just introed we are going to have to wait for a true (non-Chinese/Company) revew!

But I would put it on your watch list, because it will work, based on specs, in the USA, with T-mobile/AT&T. However…always take all specs with a grain of salt until confirmed!

So let us proceed at one to the video…please leave feedback, Like and Share!

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Massive Release of Videos on The OnePlus 6t McLaren Edition

By Tim

OnePlus once again orchestrates a mass release of videos on YouTube on the OnePlus 6t McLaren Edition. They are simply the masters at this and the dutiful YouTubers all jumped right into line. This isn’t a bad thing, just thought I would tell you all the specs, etc so you do not have to waste your time.

This was a coordinated release and all the ones I watched pretty much looked scripted. This is truly using YouTube as an advertising network!

You will have to watch the video to understand what I am talking about, but you will  get the ideo once you have seen it.

I am not judging anyone here, the medium is available and aside from sending out a ton of phones it costs far less than adverts on television.

So watch the video and if you found it informative or useful, make a donation or subscribe to our channel, etc.

Let us proceed right to it now…

That is all for now, except please subscribe to our channel or click those big donation buttons on the website here!

New Huawei Tablet Certified by the FCC, Dubbed QIS Touch, With LTE

By Radu Iorga

Huawei has been having a hard time getting its products to the West, particularly to the USA, but now it seems that at least one new device is headed there. It’s the Huawei QIS Touch, recently certified by the FCC.

Usually a FCC certification means you’re bound for a State side launch, so Huawei could actually make it. Just to set some context here, the US and some of its partners have banned the purchase of Huawei equipment for government use and also have banned carriers from selling Huawei products.

The folks of RS-Tech have managed to score details from an FCC filing, which list the new slate as Huawei QIS-Touch. The name doesn’t tell us much, as the particle “QIS” stands for China, while “Touch” confirms a touchscreen is present. While the FCC filing doesn’t have many details about the device, we do have quite a few pictures.

This slate is probably a 10 incher, with Huawei branding at the bottom of the display, on the edge, plus a front camera within the top bezel. The rear camera is placed in the corner. The documents also show cellular capabilities, stemming from the use of a SIM card probably.

One would expect this to be a MediaPad with Android, but anything is possible at this point. The format matches the MediaPad T5, at least camera-wise, so we may be dealing with a successor. That model was announced in October, with a 10.1 inch Full HD screen, stereo speakers, Kirin 659 CPU and 3 or 4 GB of RAM. It sold for around $200.

Expect at least one new MediaPad at MWC 2019.
