Tonight’s Video Worth Posting: Galaxy S8 Versus The Galaxy A8 Smartphones

By Tim

As most folks know Samsung recently released the Galaxy A8 smartphone and it is obviously not up to the specs of the S8 flagship model, but it might be the phone for you if you are looking for higher end specs at a lower cost.

This one comes to us from Linus over at TechLineHD on YouTube. This is a nice basic comparison of 2 phones that are very similar but have one huge difference which is the price.

Those of you who have visited my site know that either of these phones are far too overpriced for me to look at twice but there are a lot of folks out there who could save themselves a bundle if the A8 does what you need it to do.

Both of these devices have fast processors, excellent graphics and each one has something the other one doesn’t have.

One has better battery life and a dual selfie camera and the other one has wireless charging, etc, etc.

So let us get right to the video which is just below. Be sure to subscribe and tell Linus to quit putting his phones in the snow!

That is all for now,

Tim

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Teclast F6 Pro Convertible Notebook, Full Review

By Tim

Tonight we have another video from Chris over at TechTablets and this one is on the Teclast F6 Pro, 13.3 inch convertible notebook.

This device is powered by an Intel Core M3-7Y30 processor and features a 128 GB SSD for storage that can easily be changed out via an access hatch on the bottom of the device.

With 8 GB of RAM and a full HD 1920 x 1080 IPS screen this is a pretty decent mid-range device. The price is currently running a bit over $500 on Gearbest at the moment but keep in mind these devices tend to fluctuate in price every few days, and I have seen this one for $449, so if you are really interested, just be patient.

Personally I am not a fan of large convertibles because even my Chuwi Hi12 tablet is a pain to hold and use as a tablet for more than an hour or so and it weighs a whole bunch less.  On the other hand I guess it would be handy to fold it up and hand it over to someone so you could show them a web site or a video, etc.

So all that being said, let us get to that video! Remember if you like this type of content then subscribe to the TechTablets channel!

That is all for now,

Tim

This Evening’s Video Worth Sharing: The LG Gram Series of Notebooks From CES 2018

By Tim

A short time back we saw a ton of info about the CES 2018 show in Las Vegas and Andrew from AMDTech brought us quite a bit of content. Today he threw up another post with some specs and a few details on the LG Gram series of notebooks.

These are thin and light, higher end notebooks with great specs and I imagine in the next month or so we shall see some full reviews from him on at least one of these devices.

These are very fast notebooks with SSD’s starting at 256 GB and an SSD expansion slot. They also feature touch and non-touch Full HD displays. They also offer various levels of RAM up to 16 GB.

So let us get right to the video…

That is all for now,

Tim

Tonight’s Video(s) Worth Sharing From A Couple New Tech Review Sites

By Tim

It’s the New Hi12 Logitab!

If you have come to this site previously you are probably quite familiar with the occasional “videos worth sharing” posts. When I see a product that I think is great or find a YouTube site that actually does honest reviews, I am going to share it.

My personal feelings are that a reviewer should point out every single problem and nit-pick the heck out of a device because those shortcomings might be the one thing that would have prevented someone from buying a notebook or tablet or smartphone because that one feature/spec was THE most important thing to that viewer.

So tonight we have two new players in the honest reviews category, as judged by me. Sure, if you have hours to spend trying to find honest instead of corporate sponsored reviews, you can find these folks yourself, but hell, I have already done the detective work, watched dozens of videos and I won’t steer you wrong.

Obviously if you want the best, really crappy videos, that tell you about abusing the heck out of a tablet for a number of months, well, that would be this site. But my budget is  incredibly microscopic so unless folks donate, we have to wait for tax time each year to buy cool new stuff!

So let us get right to those reviewers with a couple of recent videos from them. First we have Ben over at Ben’s Gadgets Reviews and he has some of the most basic, down to earth and honest reviews you can find. Yep, it ain’t Hollywood, but they are informative. The one below I spotted yesterday and he is actually giving some devices away. So although this will probably kill my chances of winning,  here is the video…

Next up we have Linus at TechLineHD whose video on the LeEco  Le Pro 3 kind of made me seriously consider this smartphone. This one is on the Samsung Galaxy A8, a mid-range phone with excellent gaming performance…

…and of course I had to throw in my latest crappy video, which was made worse by being sick and so tired I could barely stay awake, but it gets the point across….

That is all for this evening,

Tim

Tonight’s Worth Sharing: UMIDIGI S2 Pro Smartphone Unboxing And Review

By Tim

l

Tonight’s video comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTech and covers the UmiDigi S2 Pro smartphone which seems to be a decent device but has some of the usual Chinese brand drawbacks.

Lately the Chinese have been trying to sell folks “dual” camera phones that really only have a single camera on the back. That appears to be the case here and although a terrible idea to lie to your customers, this is an otherwise good product.

I myself also do not believe that the battery is actually over 5000 mAh as the mfg claims due to the less than stellar battery performance that is more akin to about a 3500  mAh , or less, battery.

While it is an okay product, I believe that the Le Eco Pro 3 might be a much better value considering the price and the fact that the manufacturer has lied a wee bit about the camera and perhaps also the battery.

All that being said, here is the video. Make sure to subscribe to Andrew’s channel if you like this tech stuff!

That is all for this evening,

Tim
