Tonight’s Second Video Worth Sharing: Screen Captures Not Full Size? Add Some Borders!

By Tim

Tonight we have a short tutorial on Openshot and The Gimp. Sometimes your screen capture program will not output the size you would like. Many times it will use the resolution of your monitor and not the exact size that is ideal.

The GPU generally uses the res provided to the monitor and therefore you may end up with some strange sizes as I do with 1152 x 720 being the output.

Of course when editing the video everything ends up restricted by this size limitation and you end up with some black bars on either side of the video.

This video describes how to get rid of those black bars with a simple background image with the actual video size made transparent inside the background image.

So let us get right to the video!

Need to Edit Images Without Spending a Fortune? How Does ZERO Dollars Sound? (Video)

By Tim

I have mentioned this software several times while I was testing Linux on the HiBook and the Hi12 and probably even on the Asus X553SA notebook.

But those were always references to the Linux version, but how about Windows? Yeah, there is a version out for that also and it works great and was recently updated a bit.

The bottom line is that the GNU Image Manipulation Program is free open source software!

Many of the images you see on this site and most any other sites I maintain were edited with this software. Bottom line? It gets the job done, has extensive documentation and you can find a video on how to do just about anything with it!

I have it running on my HiBook, my Hi12 AND my Zotac here at home!

So watch the video, learn something and make sure to subscribe to our new YouTube channel!
