Tonight’s video is courtesy of Andrew over at AMDTech and is a full review the the Huawei Mate 20 Pro smartphone.

As usual, make sure to visit his channel and check out the wide variety of products he tests and reviews!

The Huawei Mate 20 is currently the top of the line when it comes to their Kirin 980 (7nm) processor line.

It is superfast, has a plethora of cameras and if cameras are your thing, this is one of the best.

I am going to leave out all the specs here because Andrew has covered each and every one of them in his review!

So let us get right to that video and make sure to visit his channel!

Huawei Teases First Foldable Phone for MWC 2019 Unveiling on February 24th

By Radu Iorga

We already knew that Huawei was bringing 5G stuff and Huawei P30 phones at MWC 2019 on February 24th, but today we get a teaser for another new thing. It’s a foldable phone, that’s going to debut in Barcelona as well. We have a fresh teaser that’s pretty clear on this matter.

Last we heard, Huawei was actually bragging about making the first foldable phone also a 5G phone. If you look closely at the teaser, you can see two screens being split like a V. It’s a clear opening of a foldable phone, with curved sides. For those of you wondering, things will go down on February 24th at 1 PM GMT time and we may even be there to partake.

The handset is supposed to be very large and not use a hinge like the Surface Book or other foldables. Instead it’ll use a special flexible material, that bends when you need to open it. A 7 inch diagonal or more is expected, taken down to 4.5 or even 5 inches when the device is folded. According to the Chinese sources, the phone will sport a Kirin 980 CPU and 5G support.

It’s not very clear if it’ll be a Honor Magic-style prototype or a commercial device. I’d go with the first version.

US indicts Huawei for stealing T-Mobile robot, selling US tech to Iran

By Timothy B. Lee

US prosectors unsealed a pair of indictments against Huawei on Monday, escalating the Trump administration’s battle with the Chinese smartphone giant. One of the indictments also names Meng Wanzhou—Huawei’s chief financial officer and the daughter of the company’s founder—and accuses her and the company of selling US technology to Iran in violation of US sanctions laws.

The other indictment charges Huawei with stealing cell phone testing technology from T-Mobile. And Huawei is accused of stealing the technology in the most literal sense: according to the indictment, a Huawei employee entered a T-Mobile testing lab, put a proprietary robot into his laptop bag, and walked out. The heist was the final step in Huawei’s increasingly aggressive efforts to learn how T-Mobile’s smartphone testing system works.

US prosecutors argue that the two indictments reveal a culture of deception at the Chinese smartphone giant.

Huawei to bring Foldable 5G Smartphone to MWC 2019

By Radu Iorga

Huawei has confirmed it’s going to showcase its foldable 5G smartphone at MWC 2019 and that’s a big deal. First of all, the company could have chosen to do both challenges separately, but it seems it wants to handle both.

Huawei will fit a 5G modem and 5G capable CPU on the foldable phone it showcases in Barcelona. They have to double up on innovation, since Samsung is also bringing forth its Galaxy S10 flagships on February 20, plus a foldable around the same time frame. The teaser for the future product appeared at the end of the Huawei Mobile 5G launch event taking place in Beijing this week.

Richard Yu, the company’s Consumer Business Group CEO claimed that he’ll see everyone in Barcelona in February, where they’ll launch the first 5G smartphones with a foldable screen. There’s a video of that below.

Huawei also unveiled the new Balong 5000 5G chip, needed for the modem part of the 5G phones. Huawei has been secretive about its foldable project and we have yet to see complex renders, patents and leaks from them. Xiaomi’s approach with a triple folding machine seems to be the best so far and it’ll also be present at MWC 2019. I have a feeling that these Chinese firms may use common technology, but it’s just my gut feeling.
