So for anyone who has read any of my posts about the K480, or why I choose it over the K380 then you are probably aware that I bought one last year from the very same place that has them dirt cheap again.
Now almost a year later, Newegg still has these keyboards in there refurbished items section. Don’t panic, mine was a “refurbished” model, meaning it was repackaged and brand new.
So if you really want a great keyboard for the incredibly low price of $16.99 then click this link!
If you are looking at a Bluetooth keyboard for a 10 inch or smaller tablet, or perhaps just to use with your PC or smartphone, then you might just be an idiot if you don’t go visit the site I linked above, (okay, this one works also).
Update here: I bought a nice case for the tablet which allows me a perfect viewing angle, but the idea here was still great!
So as I have written about previously here, I now use my Dragon Touch X10 along with a keyboard and mouse as my primary editing station. It saves the load on the server here and allows me to edit just as well as I could on my Win7 desktop.
But there was one minor glitch in my setup and that was the fact that the Logitech K480 Bluetooth keyboard had a slot meant for 10 inch tablets. So that means my tablet, which is 10.6 inches, sits just a wee bit off of level which I found annoying.
Now I have no problem with the keyboard being raised at one end to cure this issue, the question was how to accomplish ths feat? The answer was simple, 2 popsicle sticks a wee bit of styrofoam and I had myself a fairly stable keyboard support. So if you look at the image below you will notice the keyboard is not level, but the screen is.
The keyboard itself is pretty darn nice and built like a bank vault (heavy and solid). It was easy to setup, uh, install 2 AAA batteries, turn switch on, hit button to connect device, pair device, enter PIN to pair.
It does appear that one of my devices has an issue though. The ME572C tablet, which I am currently using with the K480 to create this article on, seems to almost totally lose wifi signal when the Bluetooth is active. This in NOT a K480 issue as my cheap BLU Studio X has no such problems. (update, as of 09/22/15, after receiving my latest Asus software update, the wifi/bluetooth issue appears to be resolved!). My WiFi now stays connected while using the keyboard and life is good!
So do I like this keyboard? Hell yes, and getting it for almost half price because it is “refurbished”, meaning a brown box and and no fancy packaging makes it even better. It was a mere $27.99 on Newegg.com and included free shipping. I have never been disappointed by ANY of their refurbished stuff.
Bottom line here is that I give this little product a 9.8 on a scale of 10. Some more pictures below…

After almost 6 months I am still loving this keyboard! Those batteries I installed 6 months ago, yeah, still running it! And because I now have a case/stand for my 10 .6 inch Dragon Touch X10 tablet I use that yellow slot to hold my flashdrive(s) and my micro-full USB adapter. You can still find it under $30 on Amazon.com.
Alas, it is not yet available for order anywhere, even on Logitech’s site it is only a pre-order. Well, since I have always wanted a fullsize keyboard to use with my tablet and smartphone I decided why not try out the ancient tech, (less than a year old), Logitech K480, which has a slot to hold your devices in? Sure it costs a tiny bit more, but, as always, I managed to shop around and find one on Newegg.com for under $28 with free shipping!
A short follow up here. Months later I am totally happy that I chose this product. The battery is still going after months of use and I can use it with my phone and both tablets I own with a turn of a knob. You can also still purchase this keyboard on Amazon.com for roughly $30.
