Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: The Teclast F7 Pro Notebook, UnBoxing And Initial Impressions

By Tim

Teclast has put out a very decent 14 inch tablet with good specs and at a budget price. The video we have tonight is from Chris over at TechTablets and covers his initial impressions of the device.

Now I am still going to recommend the Chuwi LapBook Air, only because it has 8 GB RAM, more on-board storage and a back-lit keyboard, but if price is a major concern this one can be had at a reasonable price and will perform equally well.

The basic specs are as follows:

  • Intel Celeron N3450 Apollo Lake CPU, Quad Core
  • Windows 10 Home
  • 14 inch IPS FHD display
  • SSD Expansion slot
  • 6 GB RAM
  • 64 GB eMMC 5.1 on-board storage
  • Great keyboard and track pad
  • WIFI: 802.11 ac

As far as pricing goes, I do suggest shopping around although I understand that if you use coupon code: TECLASTS$200-$10 that you can get this device for about $219!

So without any further babbling on my part, here is the video. Make sure to subscribe to the TechTablets site if this stuff appeals to you!

Remember, the Chinese retailers change prices constantly, so make sure to be patient, wait for flash sales and check multiple sites.

Always check BangGood.com and Geekbuying.com in addition to the Gearbest site.

That is all for now,

Tim

HP Laptops at Super Low Prices!

A short follow-up on the Asus X553SA Notebook I Recently Purchased. Yes, not Everything on this Site is Purely Tablet Related.

1-Asus-laptop-sneak-peekSo while I am happy with the Asus X553SA Notebook, I did finally get tired of the hard drive running for roughly 6 min after every boot-up. So I decided to go in and kill everything that looked even remotely like bloatware. There were roughly 4-5 programs that fit the bill. I did not kill anything like sound or graphic hardware related items, (that’s a hint kiddies, don’t go crazy when uninstalling stuff!)

I killed off virtually every frivolous Asus program on the machine and then proceeded to get rid of the Trend Micro anti-virus. Boot-ups are now roughly 50% faster. It was worth the 25-35 minutes of uninstallations. I replaced the Trend anti-virus with the AVG Free  A/V and only installed the basic A/V protection.

In the end I freed up roughly half a gb of disk space by getting rid of apps that I would most likely never use. I am sure there are a lot more tweaks for Windows 10, but since I don’t use the thing very often, I can learn those at a later time. There is one other minor issue on this notebook/laptop and that is the absolute lack of documentation! You can upgrade it, but, there are no manuals available to let you know where the ram and hard drive are hiding.

By Claudiu Sima

Lately, Panasonic started to develop more and more rugged tablets, and today it outs a new device like this, more precisely the ToughBook 20 2-in-1. This hybrid product is a full rugged, lightweight laptop that easily detaches to its dedicated qwerty keyboard in order to become a 10.1 inch tablet ready for action.

The first thing we get to know, is the fact that this laptop features a durable MIL-STD-810G and IP65 design, all included on a magnesium alloy chassis. We’re getting a built-in handle that also works as a kickstand for a more flexibility when it comes to using experience. Panasonic offers a 10.1 inch IPS display on this device, panel with a 800 nit brightness and glove touch technology.

Inside there’s an Intel Core M5-6Y57 processor, 8 GB of RAM memory, 128 GB SSD that is upgradeable to 256 GB or 512 GB SSD, a backlit keyboard, a 2-megapixel front facing camera. Optional we can choose a 8-megapixel rear sensor to be included on our laptop. A 2nd battery can be also packed on this rugged device.

In terms of connectivity we have an USB port (2nd one optional), HDMI, Ethernet, MicroSDXC, Headphone/mic, microSIM – elements found on the tablet. When it comes to the keyboard dock, there’s three USB ports, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet Serial and a Docking connector. In spite of its rugged alure, this product manages to weight just 1.7 kg/3.9 lbs. However, the price is pretty high at $3099.

By James A.

samsung-ativ-book-9-spin-2015-11-04-01

Samsung debuted new models within the Ativ Book 9 series today, that include very strong specs. I’m talking about the Ativ Book 9 Pro, that will satisfy gamers and graphic designers alike.

The device comes with a sixth gen Intel Core i7 processor, as well as a 15.6 inch 4K display and on board we find the optional Nvidia GeForce GTX 950M GPU. The battery here offers 6.5 hours of functioning time and all of those features are crammed within a 4.45 pound all aluminum body. Since this is an Ativ Book 9 model, it comes with a slim and tapered front profile.

The same unit brings 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, plus 4 speakers and an USB Type C Port. There was also another model announced today, the Ativ Pro 9 Spin, with a 13.3 inch QHD+ display, that’s able to rotate 360 degrees. Inside it there’s 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD storage and an Intel Core i7 6500U chipset. This notebook only weighs 2.87 pounds.

Prices are unknown yet.
