Today’s Video Worth Sharing: There Is No Umidigi A3 Max, But There Is An Umidigi One Max

By Tim

Today we have a video on the Umidigi A3 Max…uh, yeah, there is no such animal folks! All those videos listed on YouTube about this mythical device are 100% bullshit. However there is an Umidigi One Max which is a lot like the Umidigi One Pro except it has a larger screen and twice as much onboard (ROM) storage.

All the links mentioned in the video are listed below. I was however wrong about the A3 Pro, that link will also be in the description below. It appears to be simply a 5.7 inch version of the A3.

Links referenced in the video:

Umidigi A3 Video: https://youtu.be/B1tQWMV3KR4
The Umidigi A3 Pro: http://shrsl.com/1azj1

What we have here is essentially a larger version of the Umidigi One Pro with a bigger screen, more onboard storage and…well…that is about it.

I just found it annoying to find all those videos about the “A3 Max” which simply does not exist. Some were giving out specs almost 2 months ago!

Always check the manufacturer’s web site before you waste too much time being excited by crap information!

Below is the video…

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is a Brand New 6.9 inch Phablet With a 5500 mAh Battery

By Radu Iorga

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has become official today, after a period of leaks and teasers. It’s certainly a biggie, at 6.9 inches in diagonal, but it truly feels like a smartphone, in features and functionality. This is a device that’s ideal for multimedia consumption, binge watching TV shows and gaming.

The battery isn’t half bad at 5500 mAh for the 6.9 inch screen. Design-wise, it reminds us of the latest Xiaomi Redmi models launched. It’s got an unibody metal shell and a vertically oriented dual camera. The antenna cutouts re the same as they’ve been since the Meizu Pro 6. In spite of being so big, it weighs 221 grams, which is pretty close to the Xperia XZ2, so not bad.

The thickness is just 7.99 mm here. The screen offers a Full HD resolution and the famous 18:9 aspect, while inside we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 CPU, also available on the ASUS ZenFone 5 and behaving quite well there. It even had some AI action, which would be nice to see on this phablet (but probably not). You can get the phone with 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, an 8 megapixel front camera and a dual back shooter that includes a main 12 MP shooter with F/1.9 aperture, PDAF and Dual Pixel tech.

There’s also a secondary 5 MP sensor for the sake of Bokeh. Connectivity is up to speed, with USB Type-C in the mix, 3.5 mm audio jack, Dual VoLTE, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0. Security is also well taken care of with a fingerprint scanner at the back and Android 8.1 plus MIUI 9.5 in the mix as well. It’s all juiced up by a 5500 mAh battery with 9V/2A fast charge.

Available in black, gold or blue, the handset is priced at around $250 for the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB model and $300 for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model.

Huawei Honor 10 Gets First Leaked Pictures, Comparing it to a Nintendo Switch

By Radu Iorga

Huawei Honor 10 is a pretty controversial smartphone, since it’s basically big enough to be a tablet and even compete with one, at 6.9 inches. Oddly enough, its first appearance in leaked live shots involves a comparison with the Nintendo Switch. Let’s check out the shots.

The Honor was already gunning for gaming, with a recently launched 8 GB RAM model and the GPU Turbo thing. When I first saw these new pics, I was spooked by the fact that the device may end up having its own sort of Joy Cons. The screen of the newcomer is pretty similar to the Nintendo Switch one, albeit the whole device is much slimmer.

There’s no bezel less approach here and the specs are pretty solid, including a 6.9 inch QHD+ screen (better than the Switch’s HD), 24 MP selfie camera and a combo of 24 MP + 16 MP back camera. We also get a 6000 mAh batery and a Kirin 970 CPU, already seen on the Huawei P20 Pro flagship and the Mate 10 Pro last year. There’s also 128 GB of storage and 6 GB of RAM.

From what I can see the device’s length and width are higher than the Nintendo Switch ones, but once again the thickness favours it. And also it runs some Battle Royale and title and Arena of Valor if my eyes aren’t mistaking me. Give this baby a price below $350 and you’ve got a hit.

The Note 9 launches August 9—here’s what to expect

By Ron Amadeo

Ron Amadeo

We now know the date of the Galaxy Note 9 announcement. Samsung sent out invites to “Samsung Galaxy UNPACKED 2018” on August 9 and a teaser image showing the Note line’s trademark S-Pen. This year, the show will be at the Barclays Center in New York City, the home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and the NHL’s New York Islanders.

There isn’t a huge amount of rumors out there about the Galaxy Note 9. If past Note devices are any indication, the Note 9 will be very close to the latest Galaxy S9+, just with a slightly larger screen and battery, a squared-off design, an S-Pen, and some new camera tech. Sure enough, a report from Bloomberg earlier this month said the Note 9 “will look similar to last year’s model” and have “an upgraded camera.” Samsung just announced a new “Isocell Plus” camera sensor, which it says can “capture more light, significantly increasing light sensitivity and color fidelity.” There’s a good chance it will end up in the Note 9.

The basics are as follows:

  • Display: 5.99 inch 2160 x 1080 pixels screen
  • CPU: MTK6750T 1.5GHz Octa Core
  • System: Android 8.0
  • Storage: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM
  • Cameras: 13.0MP front camera and 2.0MP + 20.0MP dual rear cameras with AF and flash light

Nope, it isn’t bleeding edge, but it will get the job done! So go ahead and watch the video and see what you think!

I am unsure if this phone will be able to get LTE service in the USA, but it appears like it should. Should be fine in most countries depending on the bands you have in your region.

So let us get to that video and make sure to check out Linus’ YouTube channel.

This product is available on Gearbest currently for $149.

That is all I have for now,

Tim
