Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: A Scary Day For Me And The BLU Studio Energy 2, I Thought It Was Dead!

By Tim

When your tech devices die it can be an agonizing reality, especially if you don’t have a spare device around that can do the same job! Today I thought I had run into that scenario!

However persistence and just plain stubborness paid of about 10 hours later with a nicely resurrected smartphone with a few spare GB’s of storage space and your’s truly here quite happy to be back in business!

However I still need a new phone and this brought that reality home! So perhaps some manufacturer or some kind soul can send me a decent 5.7 inch, 18:9 smartphone with at least Android 7.1 for testing? My tests last roughly 2 years and result in dozens of articles over that time period…hint, hint, Nuu Mobile USA, that G3 seems perfect!

Okay here is the entire saga in a relatively short video, at least compared to the almost 10 hrs of “fix” time om the BLU Studio Energy 2.

Today’s First Video Worth Sharing: ALLDOCUBE KNote 5 2 in 1 Tablet PC, Hands On and Review

By Tim

This video comes to us from Chris over at TechTablets.com and is an interesting product. The Alldocube KNote 5 is a decent, but far from stellar 11.6 inch tablet with a keyboard case.

As usual for inexpensive tablets this one lacks decent speakers, which of course is easily cured a headphones or Bluetooth speakers. The display is a very decent , but not all that bright, IPS type and the device also does have a 128 GB SSD drive, which is nice to see.

This one also has an N4100 Intel Celeron processor and 4 GB of DDR4 RAM.

It is currently available at Gearbest for $309 at the time of this posting.

So below is the video and make sure to check out the TechTablets channel on YouTube for similar content to this!

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: What The Heck YouTube? And Other Thoughts

By Tim

Today’s video is more about me asking questions about YouTube than anything else. I am the first to admit when I can’t find an an answer on my own and ask for help, so if anyone knows the answer to the first section of the video, leave a useful comment!
The second portion of the video is simply me venting a bit about co-workers and commenters on YouTube in general.

Nothing technical is this video, except that related to YouTube. The behavior described in the video is confined to only my personal YouTube account.

In the second second section, you might recognize a few things I describe about arrogant asshats in general, including co-workers and YouTube commenters.

Below is the promised video. If you have an answer to my question, please leave a comment!

Microsoft Surface Go Is Now Official; Brings a 10-inch Display and up to 8 GB of RAM

By Claudiu Sima

After some late night leaks with the smallest Surface tablet ever, today Microsoft finally announced the new device called Microsoft Surface Go. This one is promoted as the smallest device in the Surface range and also as the most accessible one to date from this productivity-focused line-up.

Microsoft Surface Go seems at first glance to be a smaller version of Surface Pro, a device that brings us a 10 inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1800 x 1200 pixels. Like all models in the range, this offers a kickstand that can be placed in all angles depending on how you use it.

It has a USB-C 3.1 port that can be used to charge the battery but also to output the video signal and data to external devices, and the operating system running in this case is of course Windows 10. Surface Go comes equipped with a dual-core Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y (Gen7) processor, a chipset that Microsoft chose because of the balance between performance, autonomy and thermal properties that allow for a thin fanless design.

We get up to nine hours of autonomy, and we find that for now Surface Go it’s only available in Wi-Fi Only, while LTE will be released later this year. The tablet has 4 or 8 GB of RAM, 64 GB of eMMC or 128 GB SSD, and you can optionally purchase a qwerty keyboard and a stylus. Microsoft Surface Go debuts today at pre-order and deliveries are scheduled to begin in August! Below you have price details.

Surface Go prices:

  • 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage – $400
  • 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – $550

Surface Go accessories:

  • Surface Go Type Cover (black): $100
  • Surface Go Type Cover (Alcantara, red, blue or silver): $130
  • Surface Mobile Mouse (red, blue or silver): $35
  • Surface Pen: $100

Today’s Video Worth Sharing: The Full Review of The Lenovo X1 Carbon Laptop (6th Gen)

By Tim

This video comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTech and covers the 14 inch Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th Gen , 14 inch laptop/notebook. This is a high end business class device that is perfect for large business and productivity.

The display is simply stellar, the available options are great and the price, while skyhigh will not scare off a major corporate IT department because the payback in productivity and the quality of the machine itself is excellent.

The battery life is good, the keyboard is beyond good, simply put, it is great! Certainly this is not a gaming laptop/notebook, but this is for getting work done!

I am not going to bore you with the specs, Andrew covers all of that in the video, so watch the video and subscribe to his channel to see great tech reviews that pull no punches!
