Just a Quick Post About Ben’s Gadget Reviews. Where Did it Go? (Video)

By Tim

The story here is a very short one and you can simply skip to all the details by scrolling down to the video.

I was checking out videos from folks I subscribe to on YouTube tonight and I noticed that when looking at my post from over a month ago, that ben’s gadget reviews was not working. So I proceeded over to YouTube to find that the channel no longer existed.

So I did a quick Google search and found his new, hopefully temporary channel, explaining what happened.

So the video below will give you details and you can also find his new channel right here!

That is all for the moment,

Tim

Another Video Worth Sharing: The ALLDOCUBE X1, 8.4 inch Tablet!

By Tim

This one appears for now at least to be a very decent  8.4 inch tablet, at a reasonable price and with some good specs! This initial unboxing and review comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTech and covers the basics.

The basic specs are listed below:

  • Android 7.1 OS
  • 8.4 inch IPS 2560 x 1600 display
  • Helio X20 deca Core processor
  • Mali – T880 700MHz GPU
  • 64 GB ROM
  • Dual Sim or Sim and microSD card
  • WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac wireless internet
  • 13 mp rear and 8 mp front cameras
  • Battery: 4500mAh,

So the specs are pretty decent, although we should wait on the full review to see how it does on battery life.

All the above being said, make sure to visit Andrew’s YouTube channel and  subscribe to it! Now let us get right to that video!

This device is currently available for around $259 at this site.

That is all for now,

Tim

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing: Need a Great Free Screen Capture Program? Try Out OBS Studio

By Tim

Tonight we have a video I just posted on our new channel here on YouTube. The easiest way to show folks what is happening on your screen is to capture your display and there are a number of tools out there to do this. Last night I stumbled on to OBS Studio.

This is an excellent screen capture program for Windows, Mac and Linux. It also does live streaming! Yeah and the bonus here is, it is free!

In the video posted below I barely scratch the surface of using this product since I was just using it for the first time and I only watched one quick beginners guide on its use. However there are literally dozens of excellent tutorials on YouTube on how to use this software.

So let us get right on to the video and see just how well this software works on my very “Cheap Tech” Zotac PC with an N3150 processor.

That is all I have at this moment, except to request that folks visit the channel, subscribe, and “Like” the videos and share them!

How to Edit Your YouTube Videos For Free! It Is Called OpenShot!

By Tim

I have mentioned this editor in a lot of my videos and it is a really good, open source video editor that runs on my tablets and on my PC in Windows 10 and of course you can use it in Linux also!

It is fairly full featured considering it is free. So I just thought I would post a quick video on it, showing you how easy it is to use.

The video below was shot on my ancient BLU Studio Energy 2 phone, which is my camera of choice and was done at 1080p. The only thing I had to really do to edit the final video was to add a transition, because the phone decided to quit recording and also a little overlay at the end asking folks to like and subscribe.

This is by no means a full tutorial, because the software has some great help pages on their website at openshot.org.

This video was edited on the Zotac in OpenShot as I wrote this post at the same time! Yeah, if you are using it on a tablet with an Atom X5-Z8300 or Z8350, you will simply have to wait for it to finish. 4 GB RAM just isn’t enough, but if you have 6-8+ GB RAM and an Apollo Lake or even a Celeron N3150 like me, this thing works great!

I do also mention the Android app I use to stitch multiple videos together seamlessly and that app is called AndoVidPro. It is inexpensive and will run just fine on older hardware like mine. So if you have a newer Android smartphone, it will be super fast fast and reliable!

That is all I have for this evening,

Tim

The Second Video Worth Sharing Today: The Full Review on the HP Envy X2 Win 10 on ARM 2 in 1 PC

By Tim

This one comes to us from Andrew over at AMDTech and covers the details on the HP Envy X2 using Win10 on ARM.

The battery life is amazing but the new tech here suffers from, well, being bleeding edge, but not yet refined. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 works okay, but doesn’t handle 64 software at all.

As usual this is another well made, brutally honest review, which is why you should be subscribed to Andrew’s channel! We did post the initial impressions review a few weeks back and you can find that one right here.

So let us get right to that video and see what Andrew has to say!

That will about cover it for the moment,

Tim
