If You Are Into Gaming on a Laptop, Watch This Video!

By Tim

Of course if you have ever visited this site before you might know that I really don’t give a damn about gaming, but to be fair to those who do, I am sharing this video. Because temps on a PC of any kind are important!

This one comes to us from Chris over at TechTablets and he advises that you remove and re-apply the thermal paste on your gaming laptop’s CPU and GPU. Based on his advice I would say that if you are pushing your laptop or notebook hard you should consider this.

So without further into, here is the video, it is short and to the point.

That is all for this evening,

Tim

Tonight’s Video Worth Sharing Is Once Again On The Xiaomi Notebook Pro, This Time Gaming

By Tim

I don’t really care about gaming on a tablet or laptop at all but I do understand that there are lots of folks who are into gaming and my opinions on it are simply not relevant.

Therefore tonight we have a fairly thorough gaming review of the Xiaomi Notebook Pro. This one is from Chris over at Techtablets and is quite thorough.

This one is on the 8gb/i5 CPU version and the notebook actually seems to do quite well.

So lets get right to the video…

You can find this device on Gearbest although the i7 version is currently out of stock. Try these coupon codes to get a lower price: coupon GBOCT1211 or MTMIPRO.

That is all for now,

Tim

Microsoft Showcases Fluent Design Novelties in Windows 10 (Video)

By Radu Iorga

Microsoft debuted the Fluent Design language earlier this year, as a fresh and new version of UI for its Windows platform, while also promising subtle changes to the software. Since everyone was ramping up UI design, Android and iOS included, Microsoft had to react. Today we learn more about Fluent Design and what’s new.

Some of the new stuff feels kind of familiar, like the blur effects reminding us a bit of Windows Vista. The new changes are showcased in the video below, which was recently made public. The Fluent Design System is supposed to be a sort of version 2.0 to the Metro design and it will find itself on Windows, but also in Microsoft apps and services, spread across iOS and Android too.

It’s all light, depth, motion and 3D. Scale and material are also important and the new animations will make the design feel like it’s moving during Windows interactions. The next Windows 10 update is expected to bring even more changes and that’s Redstone 4 we’re talking about. The core update will come in March next year, with functionality like Cortana Collections, that will see and remember browsing habits.

Back to the Fluent Design System, it’s supposed to make interactions with menus more natural, as well as pen input and intuitivity in menus. It’s a continuation of the simplicity of Metro UI, but with more transparency now and even simple menus. Lots of rectangles and edge-less menus are used. As you can see in the video below, the pen gets a lot of love.

Today’s Video is Sort of a Repeat, But Still Worth Sharing: Xiaomi Notebook Pro i5 Version

By Tim

Yesterday we had the full review on this one from Chris over at TechTablets and today we get the unboxing/initial review from Andrew over at AMDTech.

The version in this video is the 8 GB RAM with the i5 quad core processor and as usual is very well presented with all the pros and cons. (Okay there really are not many cons at all).

As usual this is a very well done video from Andrew who, like Chris, offers some of the best unbiased videos on the internet.

You can find this device on Gearbest although the i7 version is currently out of stock.

That is all for now,

Tim

Underwater Tablet Debuts in Finland, With Working GPS and Touchscreen; Startup Alleco is Behind It

By Radu Iorga

While some of us are still blown away by the fact you can use the HTC U11 flagship underwater by squeezing its edges, others want to use tablets underwater. Finnish startup Alleco has you covered, as they’ve been working on an underwater slate. It has both a working GPS and a fully functional touchscreen.

The company was founded by divers and it produced the new device known as Alltab. It’s supposed to help expert divers with their underwater work and research. I bet that James Cameron is super thrilled about this product. It should be used for complex navigation and note taking. The Alltab is actually a sort of big shell, a “jacket” if you want that for now only holds the Galaxy Tab S2 8 incher inside.

It can also be configured with other tablets and connected to external devices via WiFi or Bluetooth. The Alltab is rated to 90 meters of depth usage and it’s targeted at military and commercial divers. Recreational divers could also make good use for it. Another superior version is in the works, a PRO model rated for a 150 m depth usage and it can even be used with or without gloves.

The device seems to sport big and comfy external (physical) buttons and while we don’t have a price for it, I’m sure it’s hefty. Features include a rugged construction, wireless charging, data gathering software and the Allhub Internet and GPS system. It can even be hooked up with an external action camera. You can get one here.
