Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus is Now Official, With Bigger Screen, Battery and Priced at Less than $300

By James A.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 has been available ever since June, but now the Chinese device maker has decided to pull out of the hat a bigger version. It has a 10 inch screen, it’s priced below $300 and it’s known as the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus packs a 10.1 inch screen with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It relies on the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 as the original Mi Pad 4, plus 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. It also has a larger battery, at 8620 mAh and the cameras stay the same: 13 MP at the back and 5 MP at the front. We also get WiFi ac and Bluetooth 5.0 here, plus a metal unibody design.

We also find an USB Type-C port in the mix, a fingerprint scanner within the Home button and it all measures 0.3 inches in thickness. It weighs 1.1 pounds. Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus only sells as a 4G LTE version, so there’s no WiFi only model. It comes with two storage variants, 64 GB and 128 GB. The 64 GB one is priced at $275, while the 128 GB one goes for $305.

Color choices are black and Gold and we have no ideas when the sales start, but preorders are already available.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus Coming, According to Leaked Proof

By Radu Iorga

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 has been available for about two months now, but now it’s ready to go to the next level, as the device has received a Mi Pad 4 Plus version. Or better said, it’s about to receive, since the device has just leaked. Let’s check it out.

The small table below is the only proof we have about the device, showing color versions like black and gold. There’s also 4 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage. The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Plus will make the jump to a 10 inch screen, while the CPU will remain the same Snapdragon 660. Battery capacity will obviously also increase, since it has to power up a bigger screen.

Just as a quick reminder, the OG model was an 8 incher with Full HD resolution, 4 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 660 CPU. It also has a 6000 mAh battery, so I expect the 10 inch model to get at least an 8000 mAh unit. The 13 MP camera is probably here to stay, as well as the 5 megapixel shooter. I’m willing to bet that Xiaomi will also launch a brand new keyboard accessory and also premiere a stylus for the device.

4 speakers in lieu of 2 also sounds like a good idea. I expect of around $250 or $300

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is a Brand New 6.9 inch Phablet With a 5500 mAh Battery

By Radu Iorga

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has become official today, after a period of leaks and teasers. It’s certainly a biggie, at 6.9 inches in diagonal, but it truly feels like a smartphone, in features and functionality. This is a device that’s ideal for multimedia consumption, binge watching TV shows and gaming.

The battery isn’t half bad at 5500 mAh for the 6.9 inch screen. Design-wise, it reminds us of the latest Xiaomi Redmi models launched. It’s got an unibody metal shell and a vertically oriented dual camera. The antenna cutouts re the same as they’ve been since the Meizu Pro 6. In spite of being so big, it weighs 221 grams, which is pretty close to the Xperia XZ2, so not bad.

The thickness is just 7.99 mm here. The screen offers a Full HD resolution and the famous 18:9 aspect, while inside we find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 CPU, also available on the ASUS ZenFone 5 and behaving quite well there. It even had some AI action, which would be nice to see on this phablet (but probably not). You can get the phone with 64 GB or 128 GB of storage, an 8 megapixel front camera and a dual back shooter that includes a main 12 MP shooter with F/1.9 aperture, PDAF and Dual Pixel tech.

There’s also a secondary 5 MP sensor for the sake of Bokeh. Connectivity is up to speed, with USB Type-C in the mix, 3.5 mm audio jack, Dual VoLTE, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0. Security is also well taken care of with a fingerprint scanner at the back and Android 8.1 plus MIUI 9.5 in the mix as well. It’s all juiced up by a 5500 mAh battery with 9V/2A fast charge.

Available in black, gold or blue, the handset is priced at around $250 for the 4 GB RAM + 64 GB model and $300 for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Finally Leaks in Full Renders; Price Also Pops Up

By Radu Iorga

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 has been on a roll over the past days, with a few consistent leaks. We even had a picture of the device to look at, at some point. The device has been confirmed for a June 25th launch and it also leaked in specs, like the Snapdragon 660 CPU. But this is the first set of renders we see for it.

The Mi Pad 4 is an 8 inch tablet that seems to have very narrow bezels. These pics were posted on Weibo and they look relatively legit. We’ll get a 16:10 aspect ratio screen here and most of the design elements from the last year tablet will be kept. There’s a single back camera on the top left corner of the slate, plus a rectangular white stripe, reminding us of the older gen iPads.

Turns out we’ll also get Face Unlock here, which was revealed by Xiaomi this week, plus we also have some prices or configs. The device is expected to come with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, priced at $230, which is actually not tablet. We don’t have info on a potential LTE version, but odds are small for that to happen. The device is also expected in USA, as it already passed the FCC certification.

We should also get some AI love on this device and the Face Unlock I mentioned may even rely on the 3D face recognition from the Mi 8, although that may drive the price up. The tablet won’t have a finger scanner, since it’s replaced by the face thing. I also see we get some curved screen corners here and what looks like a rose gold or blush gold color version.
